Marvel Legends Archangel Action Figure Review
One of the most wanted figures in the new Return of Marvel Legends Hit Monkey wave comes a newer, badder version of Archangel. This is pretty much the same figure from the SDCC X-force pack but repainted in his regular duds.
Personally, I’m glad they remade Archangel. Only since the older figure was from the XMC line and had firing missiles on his back. But this one s far superior the its predecessor.
articulation - Standard ROML articulation with: double jointed elbows and knees, thigh cuts, bicep swivels, waist swivel, ab crunch, wrist and ankle movement and head articulation. The wings also have some really good articulation so Warren’s wings can fold in all directions for some cool poses.
paint - Great paint apps: dark blue base with some metallic pink/purple. Almost Flawless with the lines. It would’ve been nice if the wings had a wash on it, compared to the rest of the figure it looks a bit plain.
detail and sculpt - The sculpting on the buck is great, but it seems to be the same Bucky Cap body. He also has gun holding hands, which I’m not a fan of. Closed or flying hands wouldn’t been better. The head sculpt however is fantastic, you can definitely see the intensity in Warren’s face.
accessories - i really don’t consider his wings an accessory piece. Even though it is packaged separately and you can remove it, I would’ve like to see some alternate hands or some projectile blades or an alternate maskless head. This figure doesn’t even come with a Hit Monkey BAF part.
price - I was able to find him for $16 since a good friend hooked me up. But currently he goes for way more for being one of the most sought out figures of this line.
Overall, Archangel is great. The minor grips about his hands and lack of accessories isn’t a big deal. He is a definite figure for your X-Men collection.
