S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider IXA figure review

IXA is the secondary rider in Kamen Rider Kiva. The IXA unit is mainly worn by two people: Otoya Kurenai and Keisuke Nago.
“IXA” is an acronym for “Intercept X Attacker.” Whereas Kiva is based on various monsters, Ixa’s motif is that of a knight and the Christian cross. Ixa’s name in Japanese comes from one of the readings of the kanji for “fighting,” “war,” and “battle” (戦 ikusa).
Personally, IXA is one of my all time favorite rider designs, since its not your typical “bug” design. Love how he looks like a modern day knight!
articulation - IXA’s articulation is very nice. His feet are die cast, which gives the figure more stability for posing. The shoulder pads have a separate joint so the arm movement can move full range. His fuestles on either side of his belt tend to get in the way if his legs are posed a bit too high and sometimes fall off.

IXA has tons of articulation…

paint - I really like the color contrast of IXA’s armor. The little hints of blue and gold make this figure stand out nicely. I do with there was some outlining done to some of the paneling on IXA’s arm to make some of the detail to stand out more.

detail and sculpt - Probably the best part about IXA’s sculpting, is the middle part of his body. There is TONS of detailing that can be seen. The torso has lots of paneling with great paint apps. His IXA belt and fuestles have tons of detailing for how small they are.

I also really like the headsculpt, which he does have an alternate head, but i prefer his save mode to his burst mode.

Here are IXA’s fuestles:
Right side - Knuckle, Caliber and Powerd.
Left side - Garulu Fake, Basshaa Fake and Dogga Fake.

accessories - IXA has plenty of accessories to keep you occupied until SHF ever decides to make a regular SHF kiva, LOL.
- safe mode/burst mode heads
- IXA knuckle weapon
- alternate ixa belt
- IXA calibur - gun and sword modes
- fuestles, which are non-removable
- 3 pairs of hands
- tamashii stage figure stand

price - IXA is about $30 - $50 online. He seems to be one of the figures that tend to stay in that price range and doesn’t sky rocket after release. So picking him up should be fairly easy. There is a first edition IXA that is out there that goes for almost double the amount.

Overall, Kamen Rider IXA is an awesome figure! He’s got a great design, tons of articulation w/ die cast feet and plenty of accessories to keep the fun factor going! I’m guessing since the series wasn’t as popular, the figures didn’t get as pricey as other Kamen Rider figures. But that’s a good thing since you’ll be able to get him cheap!

SHF Kamen Rider IXA: B
s.h.figuarts kamen rider meteor review

Kamen Rider Meteor, Ryusei Sakuta is the secondary rider in Kamen Rider Fourze. At the beginning Meteor hides his identity from Gentarou and the rest of the school.

Meteor uses Jeet Kune Do to fight off the zodiarts along with the help of the also mysterious, Tachibana. I really like his design alot; with the meteor shaped helmet and the shoulder pad on one side, meteor’s asymmetrical design totally contrasts fourze’s costume. And ONLY in comparisons, IMO, looks a bit bland when next to meteor.

articulation - Standard SHF articulation, but that’s a good thing. Its good to know that he can be posed in a variety of martial arts poses that would make Bruce Lee proud.

paint - since Meteor’s suit is well….a meteorite, the majority of of his suit is black with white stars. His helmet and his shoulder pad contrast the majority since it is made of clear blue plastic. There are also various white rings that encircle the center of his meteor driver. Ryusei’s meteor switch has some various paint apps on the buttons and finger scanner.

detail and sculpt - Most of the detailing is in Meteor’s helmet, shoulder armor, Meteor driver and switch. While most of the figure is basic black with some sculpted bits on his ankles, knees and wrists.

There are sculpted buttons on his driver for all three of his limit breaks, with some great detailing for his finger scanner.

I think this fits Ryusei’s character very well. Since he uses Jeet Kune Do, Ryusei would have less armor because it would hinder him in battle.

accessories - Meteor comes with a fair amount of accessories:
- 4 pairs of hands, 1 left hand thats sculpted for pushing the Meteor switch.
- alternate versions of the Meteor driver and switch
- foodroid hulashake: 2 modes.
